The product for this week is “decal edges.” Decal edges are “roughed” edged on special paper. Pictures #1 to #4 show four different kinds of paper that have produced a slightly different “edge.” Picture #2 has a “looser” edge than picture #1. Picture #3 has a “tighter edge” than picture #4 because the paper is different. Picture #5 and #6 show the edges of an envelope flap. Picture #7 is the decal edge on the cover of a perfect bound book! Decal edging requires special, cotton based paper and special machinery to produce. Simply, the product is very expensive. However, the process sometime sells the job. In the case of the perfect bound book, the decal edge on the cover really distinguished the book!
