Case Binding
Hard Covers
What is Case Binding?
A hardcover case bound book is made by sewing or gluing groups of pages together into a text block, then attaching that block to a separate rigid cover (the “case”) covered in various cloths, and customer supplied prints. As shown in your diagram, components like the spine, endpapers, and backing material connect the pages to the hard outer cover, making the book more durable than a paperback.
*Custom* Binding
Beyond traditional book formats, we offer a range of custom binding solutions including durable board books, innovative 3-panel case bound books, and case-wrapped products such as binders, swatch books, folders, and menus. These specialty constructions are designed to enhance functionality, presentation, and longevity while supporting unique creative and branding requirements. Using premium materials and precision craftsmanship, custom binding options provide tailored solutions for projects that demand both durability and a distinctive finished product.
Soft Covers
Softcover casebound books may sound like a contradiction, but they follow the same construction as hardback casebound books. The key difference is that hardbacks use a rigid board inside the cover, while softcover casebound books omit the board, resulting in a more flexible finish.
