This is a cloth wrapped ring binder inserted into a “thumb cut sleeve”. One picture shows the back of the binder with the rivets. It is advisable to rivet the rings into the back so that the spine when exposed on the shelf doesn’t show the rivets, doesn’t mark the “title copy”. You notice the box sleeve is a different colour by design and there’s two thumb cut holes. There’s numbers of ways that people design ring binders to go into sleeves. Some have a ribbon at the bottom. Some make the book the larger to stick out. Some have a short cut at the top. Some of the sides are completely the angle cut. The communist method is a thumb cut like you see here, and overall, that’s the cheapest method to adapt your box to easily remove the binders that are inserted.

This is a mounted hardback case bound book sleeve. You notice on the opening of the box there’s a half circle thumb cut, which is the majority of the boxes we produce have the printed portion on the box sleeve. It is the printed portion in the actual cover of the hardback case bound book so if you need a box sleeve for a hardback bound book that has a mounted printed piece on both sides, and or the spine of the box, we can help thanks.
This is the most unusual book box sleeve we’ve ever done. You notice that it’s obviously a bright silver color, but the side of it is a die cut V in the inside. The V die cut is another different coloured material that you can see glued when the book is enclosed. The short triangle shape allows you to remove the book instead of having the half circle thumb cut.
This box sleeve is one I’ve seen most frequently. Most hardback case bound book sleeve, have a half Circle thumb cut on both sides, its designed so that the book doesn’t completely fill the box with sticks out in the spine so you can grab it. In this one as you can see, there’s a large 3″ x 1″ die cut piece which allows you to pull the book out very easily. You might think it’s overkill. We just do what the client wants.
This simple blue box sleeve is something we largely produce automatically. You’ll notice in the face there’s two half circle thumb cuts. The wrap could be printed. So, if you’re thinking a box sleeves, we can probably help.
This orange box sleeve required a large amount of cloth. Often at the opening of the box is a thumb cut but in this piece it’s a slight curved shape. The orange light coloured book sticks out of the dark orange box ever so slightly so you can grab it and pull it out so if you need oversize box sleeves, please give us a call.
