Double spine bound books! I confess I’ve never seen a book bound in this style before. This “double spine binding style”, could be bound by any style of mechanical binding…plasticoil, wire-o, cerlox (Americans refer to this style as “comb binding”), spiral wire, or “rolla-bind”. Binding this style of binding using the perfect binding method would in my opinion be very expensive. In addition to mechanical binding styles, this “double spine binding style” could be bound by using flat wire stitching, or side sewing or rarely used metal eyelets or metal rivets. I feel that this “double spine”, binding style can trigger a lot of imagination, applications and innovations.
